I went looking for "When the Levee Breaks" fic this morning and found this terrific story. It's so vivid and brutal, physically and emotionally. You explored so well the internal wars that Sam and Dean are each having with themselves in their desperation. Sam turning in his hallucinations to those he needs some form of comfort from, only to get more self-destruction, is heart rending. Loved Dean's memory of a much younger Sam. Gives it an air of "how did we end up here?"
