Call me when Morrissey DOESN'T say some dumb shit. That will be a truly newsworthy event.

Did you read the quote? For once, he didn't say something dumb.

Despite his point "this black person seems to be white inside" is a really fucking dumb thing to say.

Morrissey, we are all pink inside, just like this delicious steak I'm eating

If your meat isn't pink, you're a heretic. I don't understand people who eat well done steak.

It tastes better well done to me; sadly most places don't do well done correctly - they hear "burn". We all have different taste buds and preferences.

Okay, he was right about what he said about Obama with the exception of having the nerve to tell someone that because they don't openly support black issues as a black person that they are then white inside. Racism and racial issues within the black community are not that simple, I would imagine if he had been raised in a society where people hated every part of your identity and exploited his ancestors for free labor and then continued to abuse them in the very country the built he would be saying something very different. That being said he does not have the right to think in that way so he can just fuck off.

Delusional fucking cretin.

he's the president though he can't just shout racism! to the issue like everyone else. Obama imo, can't and has never afforded to be "the Black President" he's had to be careful to not use the so called race card. I think he's said enough on the matter without being completely divisive which is what he as the president is supposed to do. He's supposed to look at all the factors, including racism, but for him if he ever played that part up he'd be accused of being divisive and fueling the race issue in the country.

With the police issue i'll give him a pass, but he has generally been piss poor at addressing things that affect AA, like most other presidents really.

Okay, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be enforcing that the police obviously need different training and the way in which they treat citizens needs to be addressed as well as them having more security measures put in place and checks and balances so the police force can't just do whatever the fuck they want and get away with it. There are more ways to address the issue than just talking about race when it comes to police brutality and he so far has not done that. In addition to him saying that police brutality is an AMERICAN problem and not just a problem within the black community which is total bullshit. He can cry that there is no excuse or police brutality but until he and others start making chances to how the police force is allowed to operate then he's just as full of shit as everyone else.

I disagree with giving him a pass on the police issue. Police brutality is by and large a racial issue and there are blatant examples of racism playing into police performance. That said, police brutality is something that affects people from all walks of life and color of skin, and him skirting around the issue and basically supporting the current state of police affairs is disrespectful and ignorant. As president he has the voice to bring more attention to the reform police training in the US so desperately needs.

Unfortunately, Americans who are so far up police assholes are also the same people who won't listen to or take seriously anything obama says because of his name and skin color, so while it might fall on a lot of deaf ears, to hear him speak up against police brutality would mean a lot to a lot of us right now.

He's not wrong about the protein thing (and probably the hormones ugh I do love chicken tho) but other than that...

ia
there are a lot of plant based protein sources, like lentils and such. i also didn't know kale had as much protein as it does. and hello chia seeds, raw nuts, and all else.
meat isn't necessary but while i don't advocate slaughter houses or mass production of hormone-induced animal products, i get why some people raise animals for food or their byproducts.
i wish there was a happy medium but tbh i'm finding it difficult to find any tbh

i know what you mean :/

factory farming is deplorable but i still love meat ugh. i've tried to cut down a lot tho and replace with veg/vegan, but it is so damn hard

Those other sources have good protein, and for the great majority of people are probably more than sufficient. For me though... I dunno if there's something funky about my biochemistry but I last a month or two max on a vegetarian diet before my health is really suffering (anemia, etc.) despite reading a lot of books on veg*n nutrition and working with a supportive nutritionist.
