I feel like stories like this are sometimes embellished tbh. Not that I think this isn't a reality for some people, but I feel like actors can be dramatic lol. Like, "I was living out of my car (but I was actually crashing at friends places so I wasn't actually living in it)" kind of things.

Very. Two oscars, and yet you never hear her name mentioned whenever there are conversations being had or lists being made about who the great actresses of this era are.

ETA: I know people will say that's irrelevant since oscars aren't necessarily a great metric of acting talent. But they are SUPPOSED to carry some weight, so I still find there to be some degree of irony.

She's on the list at the source. I had to laugh a bit when the article mentions her "house without plumbing". In my experience that's not uncommon in AK especially away from the major cities.
