In the first post I didn’t really have time to read through all the details but now that I have I’m so disgusted with this man and the team around him. On freaking day TWO of filming he went into Blake’s dressing room and cried because he said she looked fat and old In paparazzi pictures. This man had a whole hissy fit over nothing and delayed filming for everyone on just the second day of work. And she was four months postpartum too! I’ve been body shamed at work before and it’s awful but never on that kind of level. I can’t imagine being in Blake’s shoes. These people were absolutely evil to her and it really seems to stem from the fact that right away she made it known she wasn’t gonna put up with the harassment. IF those rumors are true about her trying to take over on set i completely understand now. Her and the crew were dealing with two disgusting tyrants and had no support from the studio

i saw a tweet that went along the lines of “if a woman wants her husband around on set, you should question the set not the woman.”

It makes perfect sense why she wanted Ryan around her at all times yet she got crucified for that too.

Yep honestly when all this was first coming out I thought maybe the truth was somewhere in the middle, like Blake was maybe being a diva on set but also maybe Justin was kind of an incompetent director. But then when all the Ryan stuff started coming out it kind of was red flag for me because yeah he’s really obnoxious but as far as I remember he’s never tried to insert himself into her work like that. I don’t like the man or his acting but I give him major props for going to the set like that and trying his best to protect his wife.

That’s why it was weird! She has acted in films before and he has never to our knowledge tried to insert himself into her work. Baldoni’s PR team did a good job with trying to make Ryan look bad in all of this too.

Glad she made a statement.

I have a feeling the people involved were strongly encouraged to keep quiet during the press mess. Most likely as both damage control, and giving the lawyers time to build their case.

At this point he should just quietly settle out of court, and crawl back into obscurity.

ugh these recent revelations have really shown me how easy I am to manipulate when it comes to people I dislike. All the other cast members icing out the director was a gigantic neon sign blinking “SOMETHING HAPPENED HERE” in bold letters, but I handwaved it away.

Ryan and Blake annoyed me so I wanted them to be the villains.

Don’t be so hard on yourself, a lot of us were fooled. It’s a good reminder that misinformation isn’t exclusive to space lasers and 5G chips in vaccines.

If anyone is feeling the itch to be smug and “I knew all along”, feel free to just respond to this comment and don’t chide other people who feel bad enough already.

Exactly. If someone admits that there were wrong about something based on previous information you accept that and drop it. To continue to chastise people under those circumstances smacks of self-righteousness, especially when the "pro-women unless it's someone I dislike crowd" was doubling down in spades.

Don’t feel bad, take it as a learning opportunity. These people are professionals in their field - it’s why they get paid millions of dollars to do this. This lawsuit did an important thing of shining a light onto this type of manipulation.

This story is insane, I bet most people had no idea who this guy was before that movie yet he still has the courage to pull this shit.

If there’s one thing we need to always remember about men, is that they will always have the fucking audacity

No matter how obscure a dick may be

This is genuinely the most baffling thing to me about this. The guy was an absolute nobody and yet he had the audacity to do this to an A list (by association, I guess) woman - both the behaviour and the smear campaign.

The nerve of men just astounds me. Their entitlement and self-belief knows no bounds.

He apparently even had the sheer audacity to mansplain to Blake, someone who has given birth to four children, about how childbirth works, pressuring her into agreeing to nudity that was never in the script

"Mr. Baldoni insisted to Ms. Lively that women give birth naked and that his wife had 'ripped her clothes off' during labor. He claimed it was "not normal" for women to remain in their hospital gowns while giving birth."

listen i get that she's probably a shitty person in lots of ways, but also? mad respect. she has bided her time, compiled receipts, sewed him up with this lawsuit, and now looks like she's going to obliterate him with PR just like he tried to obliterate her. fuckin go for it. end him.

yeah i'm so glad in the end this was made public. the fact that she was willing to settle in private but this asshole still wanted to "bury" her..

the arrogance of him, that's what is both shocking and completely unsurprising. he really thought it would be easy to turn public opinion against her because she's a woman and was very nearly proved right.

It kind of sounds to me that maybe initially in the press tour they were just trying to do their job, keep quiet, and move on because Baldoni is backed by a billionaire. When people started to notice that he wasn’t with the rest of the cast, people started gossiping, articles started to come out, and he hired the PR team. I think at that point was when Blake started talking to lawyers. I mean it is blatant retaliation for him to do that, and it definitely affected her business ventures.
