I'm watching it rn and it is a delightful show. Harrison Ford is fun, some of the script is a bit much but it's ok. The guy who plays Derek is great, in one scene his face showed 10 different emotions in a moment.
I think what happened to Ted Lasso has also happened to this show - the characters are turning into parodies of themselves and the scripts are non-stop quipfests. I blamed Jason Sudeikis for it on TL but maybe it was Brett Goldstein’s fault all along? He's the common denominator here.
Also the Louis storyline is a huge misstep, wtf were they thinking. It was bad enough when Brian befriended him but the relationship between him and Alice is weird and creepy - she ditches her friends ON HER BIRTHDAY to go hang with the middle-aged dude who killed her mom so he can trauma dump on her? Jimmy should've told her the truth but he wasn't wrong to try to set a boundary. And don’t get me started on the adoption storyline or all of the mixed race baby comments jfc.
And where tf is Sean?! He was a main character last season and now it’s like he’s barely a guest star.
Sorry to vent omg I didn’t know I cared this much.
IA so hard with everything you said. Brett/Louis needs to stay away. Louis is an adult, he should not be putting it on a teenager to listen to his trauma to feel better. He should’ve lied tbh and said it was his own choice bc he should’ve made that choice himself to begin with.
There's waaay too much Alice, Brian, and Liz now and not enough Sean, Paul, or Gaby. I also miss the therapy sessions, I feel like those have taken a backseat too.
It seems like the writers really just wanted to write a hang-out show like Friends or Seinfeld, because all these people do is hang out with each other? Even the teenager spends a weird amount of time with her dad's friends.
I think i hate all the characters on this show but paul, gaby, derek, and liz lmao. I liked alice last season but she's become as annoying as her father.
She is my least fav hahah because I can kinda understand Jimmy/Alice's behavior and hers I just don't, I also don't like Brian as a character but I love the actor

I did not like this season as much. Sorry to say but Alice and the show’s overall quirkiness started to grate.
