I still need to watch the whole thing, but Saoirse watching the clip from Lady Bird... my heart. I love her and that movie so much.

My favorite role/film of hers is either Little Women, Lady Bird, or Brooklyn. I know it's cheating, but I can't really choose - love her in all three.

She's good in both Blitz and The Outrun, but I wish she was campaigning for better movies. The former was bad, and the latter was good, but not one that's begging for a rewatch.

The only problem I have with Lady Bird (as someone that was in a Catholic High School in the early 2000's) is that she had pink hair and that shit WOULD NOT have flown back then. Doesn't even matter that it was a soft pastel pink, if it was unnatural it was NOT ALLOWED.

Yep. One of my friends showed up with green hair one morning and she didn't make it past the gate. She was immediately sent home.

Yep - this literally happened to me and I was in a Catholic university. Insane.

I'm colorblind so I had no idea her hair was pink in that movie?? Definitely would not fly in Catholic school!!!

I love that even when she’s in bad films, she’s never bad. But I wonder if she really thinks the scripts are good or if she does them for fun because she isn’t picky.
She works steadily and I can see her having a Nicole Kidman career where she does lots of different genres because she loves her job.

I watched some interviews with her for The Outrun and I think she’s just not a cinephile and doesn’t know what to look for in a script. Someone else needs to help her pick what movies to be in lol.
But I agree with you, I think she’ll always work steadily so eventually she’ll chance upon better scripts.

That's so interesting because she's been in so many amazing movies. I guess she's more director based.

Yeah, she’s a good actress, but I guess in her spare time she doesn’t watch movies lol!

which is fine, I always remember how Marion Cotillard is one of the best actresses of her generation but when they asked her what her favorite movie was she said the Justin Bieber documentary. 😭

I'll never quite understand the Briony hate. She's such a fascinating character, both in the novel and the film, and Saoirse Ronan's portrayal was striking.

Unpopular opinion, but I found her character the most interesting part of the novel, I didn't really care about the "love" story aspect of Cecilia and Robbie.

Misogyny and poor reading comprehension. It’s wild that she gets more hate than a literal rapist.
