Obviously it doesn't have the visual storytelling acumen of the films, because how could it, but I liked the premiere and think the show has promise. Yes, there was a lot of exposition, but I don't know how you could avoid that for this kind of show.
Nope, not yet (hopefully maybe in the future ? Herbert can diaf about his views anyway). But there's lots of women and it's very diverse so there's that :3
I don’t think they’re not going to include it based off that at least. The recent movies at least removed the homophobic stuff from Baron character.
Also the series isn’t based on anything Frank wrote but rather a book written by his son in 2012 and apparently the show is a loose adaptation so anything’s possible.
Nah, not really. It's probably helpful to know that House Atreides and House Harkonnen still hate each other 10000 years after the timeline of the show, but they set that up pretty well with exposition at the beginning so you can see where it's going anyway.
It's definitely worth the watch, imo! (edited to clarify: the prequel is worth the watch, I mean, even if you haven't seen the movies.)

This is probably a dumb question but do I need to watch the movies or know anything about Dune to watch this?
