every year there's category fraud at least once lol like the BAFTAs nominating Sandra Hüller for supporting for The Zone of Interest, pretty sure she was on screen more than her husband

lol i was thinking about submitting a discussion post and then i opened ontd to see this one at the top of the page, perfect

i really wanted to like this more, because i love a musical and it sounded like a big swing. did not work for me, though. there’s a couple great sequences, but i found a lot of it dragged. zoe was great and strategically i get why they’re running her in supporting, but like… that is clearly a leading role. i’m not the kind of person who’s always mad about category placement, but that is egregious. saw someone point out that the movie treats emilia’s transition as a dr. jekyll and mr. hyde retelling which pretty much pins down a major problem i had with it. i hope the movie opens a lot of doors for karla, at least.

can’t at how long everyone went on about how this was selena gomez’s best performance like the bar must be in hell truly because she’s terrible

zoe is great, in what is clearly a lead role

best acted scene in the movie is when emilia reveals herself to rita like i was very taken by what karla was doing in that scene

anyway this movie is bad and has nothing memorable about it once it’s over
