Months ahead of the ceremony, Conan O'Brien has been tapped to host the Oscars ceremony on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

This will be his first time ever hosting the Oscars.

Oooh, I hope he can liven up the gig. He was so good at hosting the Emmys but the Oscars are a notoriously tough and dry gig.

Also on that note... y'all the Oscar season is looking weak as hellllll. Normally there'd be stronger buzz for movies by now, it all feels so limp this year. I guess it feels appropriate.

i was thinking about that the other day... usually there are all these dramatic movies coming out around this time for the oscar rush and the only things i can think of that are coming out is Gladiator/Wicked

I think a lot of the smaller and streaming places are doing a limited December/wide January thing. At least all the stuff I'm anticipating looks that way.

I love and respect conan. I would love however to hear him talk about more serious issues more often, his quest to keep his show evergreen is great but to me sometime it lacks some acknowledging of the current times, and it would be great to hear some of his opinions on those. But then again, maybe he has the wrong opinions and it would break my heart to have to downgrade/remove him from the roster.
