Emilia Perez lived up to most of the hype it's been receiving. I think it would have worked well even if it wasn't a musical. Zoe is fantastic in it and should be nominated this year (as lead because she carries the movie) and Selena was an odd choice for casting.

I watched Heretic which was fine. Hugh Grant is Hugh Grant but he suited the role. There were a few parts where I thought the characters made dumb decisions but that’s par the course for this kind of movie. Sophie Thatcher was really pretty. She looked like tree girl Scarlet Johansson from a certain angle.

I saw the trailers for Gladiator and Nosferatu before the movie. Gladiator looks like trashy fun ala F&F and I will be seated. Joe(?) looks like a scary Roman Chuckie come to life. Pedro and Paul continue to do absolutely nothing for me and Denzel remains the most attractive man in the cast. Nosferatu looks creepy and good. Something about a Victorian setting makes everything creepier and scarier. Must be the horrors of it all.

I want to watch Cillian Murphy’s new movie this weekend.

Looking forward to finally seeing Emilia Perez. I've been listening to the Little Gold Men podcast talk about it for months.

I watched Anora which I liked well enough, but it felt like the movie got further away from Ani's POV as the movie went on and Igor became such a strong supporting character.

It did inspire me to finally watch Sean Baker's other films. Florida Project was really effective for me until the ending. That felt like a big swerve. With these two movies in mind, I was surprised that Tangerine sort of ends... I don't want to say happier, but I guess I wasn't as emotionally gut punched. I think I was just content that the two women come back together at the end.

Okay is there a way Break up Season won't be super slapstick-y.
