This is right up my alley. I love classic, ancient historical-themed (mythology) films.
Especially when they are cast with excellent actors. This looks fantastic and I can't wait to see it at home, On Demand.

Yeah I don't think this will do great in theaters tbh - there has been zero promo and it'll be on VOD within a month.

Same, I remember reading The Odyssey in high school and liking the book. But I’ll wait to see in on streaming because I don’t think we’ll have to wait that long.

Since it's a Ralph post... iamkenough November 12 2024, 00:20:57 UTC
I watched Conclave the other day...I liked the visuals a lot, but I was lucky I was in the theater pretty much unable to escape so I could sit through all the slow scenes. I expected a more ominous twist or something but everything ended okay, in a bit of a fairytale way. Lots of filler scenes for the sake of the aesthetic, the movie could've been shorter, but I feel like the slowness and the music were there to distract us from the pretty basic plot.

All in all, I did enjoy Gossip Girl in Vatican but even Gossip Girl had more surprising twists than this. It was definitely more of a drama than a thriller, but even the drama was pretty soft idk.

Speaking of Conclave, it's also Stanley Tucci's birthday today LMAO - not related but still.

"Carrying off papal pulp with immaculate execution and career-highlight work from Ralph Fiennes, Conclave is a godsend for audiences who crave intelligent entertainment." - they truly do think this is deeper than it is, I saw that ending twist a mile away...The acting was amazing though, Ralph killed it, but the movie isn't as deep as it thinks it is.

Lol at this..."previously on Odysseus" section the trailer starts with.

I'd probably watch this if I had nothing really going all. Poor Ralph. He's still very much and always Voldemort to me.

If you want to erase Voldemort for a few minutes, check out Strange Days - to me he's like...really hot in that (in a weird sleazy sort of way), and so is Angela Bassett. Multiple hot people. And it's really interesting just as a movie.
