I watched Conclave the other day...I liked the visuals a lot, but I was lucky I was in the theater pretty much unable to escape so I could sit through all the slow scenes. I expected a more ominous twist or something but everything ended okay, in a bit of a fairytale way. Lots of filler scenes for the sake of the aesthetic, the movie could've been shorter, but I feel like the slowness and the music were there to distract us from the pretty basic plot.

All in all, I did enjoy Gossip Girl in Vatican but even Gossip Girl had more surprising twists than this. It was definitely more of a drama than a thriller, but even the drama was pretty soft idk.

Speaking of Conclave, it's also Stanley Tucci's birthday today LMAO - not related but still.

"Carrying off papal pulp with immaculate execution and career-highlight work from Ralph Fiennes, Conclave is a godsend for audiences who crave intelligent entertainment." - they truly do think this is deeper than it is, I saw that ending twist a mile away...The acting was amazing though, Ralph killed it, but the movie isn't as deep as it thinks it is.

lmaooo this reviewer nailed it: The director made walking around “suspenseful” with sounds and angles. It is a real housewife episode of Rome, so much drama injected, situations so preposterous and somehow predictable? As soon as they introduced the new pope, the audience already knows who it’s going to be. The debates and arguments were based on hollywood ethics and it seemed out of touch from reality. Even worse, it’s not entertaining.
