i am just starting on a new playthrough of story of seasons trio of towns on the 3ds

i saw that there was a big sale on the nintendo e-shop and considered buying story of seasons friends of mineral town for switch because it is dirt cheap right now but i decided to wait and try trio of towns again first since it is considered one of the best story of seasons games and i never gave it much of a chance

i have a terrible track record for abandoning games so we'll see how this goes lol

If the micro-management aspect contributes to your game abandonment, I'd recommend Pioneers of Olive Town over Friends of Mineral Town lol. It's a lot better there.

I haven't played Trio of Towns but I need an excuse to dig out my 3DS, so lemme go look for a used copy. 👀

I'm about 60 hours into Veilguard, probably about halfway through Act 2. I haven't read any of the criticisms, negative reviews, etc. but I have seen that they're out there -- I honestly don't care, I'm loving this game a lot. I've said it here before, I do have some complaints, but the lore development and progression of the plot so far is so satisfying. and I adore Rook as a protagonist too.

there's a couple of new/upcoming games I've got my eye on too, mainly Farming Sim 25 👩‍🌾. never would've imagined being excited for a Farming Sim game but I got into FS22 after seeing some of my usual streamers playing it on Twitch and honestly it's such a relaxing game. it's been like a winter/Christmas tradition for me to lose hours to FS22 for the last couple of years so I'll be picking up FS25 pretty much as soon as I'm done with Veilguard.

I'm also itching to play Manor Lords but haven't bit the bullet on early access yet because it seems like development is going pretty slowly. I've watched a few playthrough videos/series on Youtube and ( ... )

I have Manor Lords and it's absolutely delightful, but play is definitely limited by development progress. Do recommend but waiting is valid given it's current state.

I’m loving Veilguard as a whole but definitely see things that could be better. But I’m also not letting that detract from what I love. I do see some things that I can tell will bother others but for me isn’t a big deal. I never expected this game to be perfect and the flaws I find in it aren’t deal breakers. Granted I need to finish it to know for sure.

yeah that's pretty much where I'm at as well. there are for sure things I would change but I haven't really come across anything yet that's killed my enjoyment overall. I can imagine what some of the criticisms are too, some that are probably founded and that I'd agree with, and some that I wouldn't be surprised if they're a bit contrived, particularly by the games media/commentators that tend to go harsher on DA and Bioware in general, especially after Anthem and Andromeda (but imo Veilguard is an improvement from ME:A). what I wanted was a primarily character-focused, lore-driven story and that's largely what it's shaping up to be so far for me.

i'm about 12 hours into veilguard and i'm having tons of fun! i'm really impressed with how well it runs on pc. it looks great (esp once i turned off that obnoxious bloom) and the load times are almost nonexistent!

however, even this many hours in, i'm STILL not very good at combat lol. there's just so much going on...so many combinations of buttons to mash. and i will say, it's kind of wild to have all the early game companions be mages and rogues, because as a mage rook, i NEED a warrior to draw some fucking aggro already! but i've read that (only the vaguest spoiler because idek why yet) [Spoiler (click to open)]you should do as many companion quests as you can before you recruit your first warrior?, so i'm stuck chugging potions and equipping all my companions with healing abilities lol

so far, my biggest negatives are that i really do miss having more abilities and a larger party. it's not the end of the world, but it's definitely more restricting.

Also, good reminder that if you got to a fast travel beacon and click on it to change you companions, even if you immediately exit right back out, all of your healing pots will be back to full.

omg thank you for this! there's no telling how long it would've taken me to notice that on my own lol

Still playing Veilguard and having fun. I'm romancing Lucanis but I've tempered my expectations after reading some reactions to it, also he seems to be into Neve more than my Rook lmao. If I do another playthrough after this I might try Bellara.
