the box office has been so sluggish for like a month and a half, but it's nice to see a lot of non-tentpoles actually doing fairly well. universal/focus usually sends its movies to VOD within 2-ish weeks unless they make a ton of money, but they haven't made an announcement for conclave yet and it could be because it's holding well. glad i already saw it because i was 100% assuming it would be online this week.

on the other hand, i'm seeing blitz later and we're the only two seats sold in the theatre right now lol. we'll see if that sticks. i haven't been part of the only group in the theatre in a long, looong time.

It’s so cute and I loved all the little dark humour bits.

watched Anora and i really liked it. i obviously wish we had a little bit more interiority with her, but i can definitely say i liked it better than Red Rocket. will be thinking about that last scene for a very long time

I watched My old ass and while i liked the movie overall i still feel dissapointed because i was expecting more from the concept and it was essentially "live in the moment" kind of thing, which doesn't have to be groundbreaking and it's important not to forget about these things but no.
Soul did a lot better showing that. The twist also wasn't twisting. Aubrey was underused and idk, it was very on the surface kind of message. Like Barbie and feminism. I think they should've gone deeper in the topic.

I enjoyed the Canadian representation. We send so many of our best and brightest south of the border to Hollywood and they never actually get to make films set here.
