Tom Holland recently revealed on Samah Dada’s On The Menu podcast that he will sometimes Google Zendaya to make sure his girlfriend is OK

Y’all acting like our minds aren’t actively talking against us at all times. I can see how googling would be a much better method of relief. It could be a while before she is able to respond and who knows what he’s already thinking. If this is how he copes, I don’t see anything wrong with it.

Some of these comments show a fundamental misunderstanding of how anxiety works - which is fine btw it’s good that not all of us have to deal with a crippling, irrational perception of things. I’m quick to assume the worst about men, but as someone who’s been dealing with anxiety for a long time now, his statement just feels depressingly understandable.

I have no idea when it started but we lost our senses of compassion & empathy. Bro is being vulnerable and saying what he does when he’s feeling anxious. He wasn’t BRAGGING about the fact that he does this and I doubt he thinks it’s “some cute antidote” either. He’s just being honest about something he does.

And the sad thing is… A LOT of users have talked about having anxiety and/or depression. Idk. Ontd has been lacking humanity for a while and it’s becoming more & more apparent everyday.

It’s an anxiety thing, it’s not rational what he’s doing and he just admitted to something people do in secret. I’d cut him some slack, Zendaya probably knows this considering he said it in public.

He is most likely referring to moments when she doesn’t reply because she’s busy or something and he gets in his own head and thinks something bad happened and googles.

yeah. if i text my parents and they don't reply my anxiety immediately makes me think something happened to them. if they were famous and i could google to confirm the reason they're not replying isn't bc they're dead, i'd do that.

yeah, i sometimes do that for my dad if i can't get ahold of him but i know there's inclimate weather or know of accidents in the area.

my anxiety loves to run off with worst case scenarios so that's my form of trying to stave that off to some extent.

I know his stans will think this is cute and wholesome or whatever but what a bizarre thing to admit to doing. It sounds like he keeps tabs on her via Google instead of just like - checking in.
