Tom Holland recently revealed on Samah Dada’s On The Menu podcast that he will sometimes Google Zendaya to make sure his girlfriend is OK

Right? I think I’d make my anxiety worse if I was looking to the internet (notoriously so reliable and not at all hyperbolic) for updates on my SO. Like my anxiety can be bad AF but I have the self awareness and therapy to remember that

I saw this as more "checking to see if someone is trying to create BS around my gf" than hitting up the SM instead of calling her, but I could be wrong.

Yeah I got that impression too. I think his anxiety is around wondering if there’s something about them that has blown up on socials that he doesn’t know of because he’s no longer on Instagram much so he does a quick Google. It’s like not checking your work emails one by one but scanning them to see if anything is marked urgent or has blown up.

Yeah, I'm thinking about Deux-Moi in particular because didn't they post some BS about them breaking up a few months ago that wasn't true? I can see him checking things then calling her later in a "V, have you seen this BS?" kind of way.

Er that’s pretty weird, if I were famous I’m not sure how I would feel about my partner tracking me through the news, can he not just text her if he’s that concerned about whether ‘we’re all cool’?

Tbh I see it as more pragmatic; because we live in a dystopia, TMZ would know and get detailed word she’d been in a car accident or something faster than herself or a friend/family member would

This is unfortunately true, but TMZ would also exaggerate the news for clicks, so imo it would only exacerbate his anxiety over her.

That’s fair enough I guess, although honestly you always hear about people worrying that the persons loved ones/family members don’t first hear about tragedies through TMZ, it just seems like that would be one of the worst and most impersonal of ways to have it broken to you that something terrible has happened to your partner

I don't follow her fanbase much. But if he's checking news I doubt it's anything big cause you rarely hear drama associated with Zendaya.
