NARCISSISTS ARRANGING SPACE AFFAIRS

Really, she just doesn't want to be cheated on, which is fair.

It's fine. She's lucky if half of her dating pool can actually spell or have a modicum of reading comprehension.

I thought she was gonna connect this to Elon Musk or other billionaire men wanting to go to space but nope. Just reminding me how young she is.

That's how I interpreted it, at least. People who want to go to space as space tourists, not actual astronauts. But maybe she's come across some actual astronaut hopefuls and she hates them too, I don't know.

As someone who grew up on sci-fi novels and shows, I was offended... Until I realized that once your dates hit a certain tax bracket, space tourism becomes an actual issue???

The intentional use of “Weird”.

Fair enough. I imagine it's less of a theoretical and/or whimsical question for people in her tax bracket, given the rise of space tourism. I personally would like to go to space but only in theory and only if it were like in Star Trek, not whatever Jeff Bezos and his ilk are doing.

yeah i took it more as her version of the 'if the pilot passed out, do you think you could land the plane' question. shows a man's hubris

I LOVE that question. It was an icebreaker at a conference I went to pre-COVID and the number of times I heard a man say something like, well yes, I would [insert insane plan here about flying to the nearest body of water or an open field and doing the most elegant trust fall from the sky right in the exact spot they planned it] was actually insane. No, owning a PlayStation as a child is not sufficient training to land a plane.

exactly this lol, I understand her immediately. Girl isn’t meeting any legitimate prospective astronauts lbr, she’s meeting rich celebs like herself and it’s good to filter out the dudes who wanna go fuck mars or whatever

I mean, if I was given the chance to be an astronaut, sign me the fuck up.

But to each their own. I don't think it's narcissistic to want to experience that. For me, it's 100% space nerd.

I'm pretty sure she's talking about space tourism and not about legit astronauts tbf. And pretty much every rich guy who signs up for those Elon/SpaceX, or Bezos or Richard Branson/Virgin space flights is a mega douche, although I'm sure some have a fascination with space
