I hope that thing about the footage is verified, because I imagine it would be a great deal of relief to his loved ones to know that it was a pure accident. It won't lessen their grief, but at least they'll not have to wonder about (or have it confirmed) suicide. I then hope that footage never sees the light of day publicly.

Rushing to put out a single before consulting his family is just utterly classless.

thank you for this thoughtful comment. having lost someone and then later got the confirmation on it, it is a pain that never ends

Also i rewatched both this is us and the where we are tour movie and wow, you can see the life drained out of zayn by WWA tour. In TIU, they really all seemed to love each other, but you could see how overworked they were. The fire pit scene made me cry. Liam was so positive, too :(. Liam and Harry seemed the most passionate and driven, tbh. And then I’m WWA, zayn just had no energy and looked like he wanted to cry the whole time.

Yeah, same. I also didn’t love MM. when zayn left I gave Four a shot though and kind of got renewed interest since that album is so good.

Simon knew boybands had a shelf life and was determined to get every cent out of them, their health be damned.

I also kinda checked out during that tour, I remember feeling overwhelmed by the rhythm of their releases and apparently they were overwhelmed as well. I ended up loving the album 1 year later but and during Four they seemed more comfortable (maybe because they were more involved in the writing process)

this is still so surreal to me, so I can't imagine how there are people from his inner circle that considered releasing a fucking song, as if his death wasn't exploited enough

Today I’m deciding

for some reason that wording and the fact that he initially chose to announce the release so quickly makes me think it was decided for him.

his family was against the release, so he might have been pressured

This whole situation just makes me sad, his poor kid. I hope that video never sees the light of day.
