I hate that being active on social media is almost required for most creatives/performers these days because it's like an open invitation to force all these people to interact with things they will not like/think is a slight against them in some way (and many times it is) because often times it ends in actions like this. Even though yes, she REALLY overreacted to this.

It's so weird she chose the poster to focus the bulk of her ire on and not the terrible AI video someone made of her and Ariana Grande fighting. I think people would've been a lot more receptive to her being like this is offensive and whatnot.

Social media has also inflated a lot of artists’ sense of importance - they might get a shitload of hate but they also get a LOT of validation, even for mediocre shit they have no business being praised for. That must be intoxicating, especially if you’re feeling vulnerable.

The usual horrible things certain folks say, but she did it on SM/message boards and very publicly. I'm glad when people show you what they're about because she gets nothing from me now, and I kinda stanned and supported her career before that.

I honestly understand why she reacted the way she did. I think it was because the viral TikTok said it was "fixing" the poster, more than over the edit itself, if that makes sense.
