Does anyone remember Panacea something? She used to do really elaborate MAC cosmetics eye tutorials.

I used to watch Zoella sporadically but something about her always grated me; I stopped watching when that British YouTube gang got really big and started doing ridiculously unrelatable videos like all expenses paid trips to Dubai. But I have to say now that she’s older and doing more chilled out homey videos I love watching her more.

panacea81 - she was one of the first (maybe the actual first?) to collaborate with a makeup brand and have her own eyeshadow palette. I watched her way way way back in the day when she was just sitting in her lounge with shit lighting putting makeup on.

I must have been out of that world by the 2010s because I don’t know a lot of the people on that list. My YouTube beauty guru era was people like Panacea81 (Lauren, I think her name was?), emilynoel83, etc. Back then it was literally people going to the shops and buying their own stuff and you could trust their opinions, not like now where they get entire collections gifted to them daily.

still follow lauren on fb and ig! she had a bad brand deal and ended up with nothing. she's working a regular job now but seems to be doing ok. she's open about a lot.

I felt like there was a whole cottage industry just about dead channels and Breland was one that got covered A LOT on there.

This era of YouTuber content to me is best like summarized with the Stylish version of Willam's Beatdown that was all about these makeup/beauty influencers.

Also this is for the older folks on ONTD, but does the Youtuber making this video's speaking voice sound incredibly like the principal from Daria?

Venusangelic is now an alcoholic meth head in Japan, stabbed her former sugar daddy, and seems to be doing street prostitution to survive. 😬 Her mom is in the US and currently on bail for squatting illegally in a home in Queens.

I read about her stomach surgery and was absolutely horrified. She was so young when she left to be a "living doll" there was no way that was going to go well in the future. I was never a fan but I knew of her.

Small correction- her mom made her be a “living doll,” and when she left to marry the Japanese guy and left her mom in Korea, she mostly ditched that persona. So she didn’t leave to “become” a living doll but to escape it.

But yeah. She decided to do that awful surgery, then went through some stuff that seemed to be the growing pains of figuring out who she is away from her stage mom… that just kept escalating and getting worse… now she’s been homeless and hospitalized repeatedly :/

She’s said a bunch of racist shit both recently and in the past so that’s fun. Her mom was married to a guy with a Nazi eagle tattoo, too.
