This seems like a good time to rant about my frustration with ~woke~ men. I know a few of these men, who very vocally hate Trump, say the "right" things in certain conversations, but still talk over women and mansplain ALL THE FUCKING TIME. They still center their own opinions in every conversation, and are inordinately pleased with themselves for being "smarter" and "better" than other men. Then they go off and use foul language to degrade women they don't like, which only tells me how they will talk about me if I ever piss them off. God, I'm so sick of it. Like, the men surrounding Saoirse clearly forgot she was even there. I'm glad she shocked them into silence. It really shouldn't be so hard to shut the fuck up and listen.

Also, your point about how they’ll say the right things but then say vile sexist shit about women they’re ‘allowed’ to not like (like conservative pundits etc) shows that you are only one offence away from also being subjected to anger or degrading sexual comments is so spot on. It’s the same flavour of man who will talk about respecting women and consent so much but then have a much younger girlfriend he treats abhorrently.

My mom tells me she goes on walks by herself in the evening when it's quiet and no one around. I worry for her even though she says it's fine. There was an old lady who got SA'd by a known person around the same area. I can't stop her from going but I just worry :|

My parents live in a very quiet and small town, and i was once waiting for a bus at 9pm to go home.
A man stopped his car just in front of the bus stop and says “wanna go to the train station? go in” i say “no thank you” and he starts screaming “go in!!!” I get angry and refuse again and he leaves. I got so scared, there was no one and i thought if he never left, what would have happened ?? It’s so infuriating and terrifying… so yes i understand your worries, sometimes, very quiet doesn’t mean safe.
