Idk what she thought she was accomplishing with this but it makes her look bad. I like her music and I love to see a lesbian have so much mainstream success but she’s not very good at being a celebrity. She needs to learn to let things go. The power differential between her and the photog makes this inappropriate.

Idk why she decided to do this at Olivia’s premiere, taking all the attention for herself. She seems like that friend that you can’t take nice places.

While I absolutely agree that she should let things go, this seems like a pretty toxic mentality - rude is rude, the end. Just bc there’s a power imbalance doesn’t mean the less powerful person automatically gets a free pass. It’s like when someone deliberately spews vitriol in a celebs’ instagram comments and when said celebrity replies, folks are like “her fans are gonna come for them”. The solution is pretty simple- don’t be an asshole and you won’t be a target. Chappell is annoying af, I’ve come to agree with that. That still doesn’t give anyone the right to be rude to her just to get a reaction.

I read somewhere that the photographer was not even speaking to her when she snapped at him the first time? Not sure how true that is though or where the source is.

I will say re the reaction, not making it ok but the more she does this I feel like people will just continue to be rude to her for clicks. Not trying to sound victim blame-y but just concerned that this may not be the best approach for her.

Some photogs and paps purposefully say nasty shit to people to get a reaction. I don’t blame her for calling out someone if they were being rude in the past.

That said, maybe this wasn’t the right time and place for such call out.

i do not like her more and more. this is the kind of girl who gets real tough when she knows they can't get tough back, but will back down real quick otherwise. putting on a show at all times.

These aren’t paparazzi though? Lol the entire point of a red carpet is to be photographed. Actual paparazzi do suck, yeah, but she willingly chose to be photographed here.

Yah. That’s the thing. You have to know how to pick your battles.
The realistic answer is that shitty people don’t often remember when they were shitty but it stays with the victim and haunts them. I wish she had more control over herself & who surrounds her. The way she should have handled it is have someone on her team/liv’s team/netflix find out who the photographer is and stop giving that photographer press passes. BUT I try not to judge too harshly on how people react because that is all it is, a genuine reaction that was formed in a millisecond.

It’s funny… her cadence in this video reminds me of an ex friend as well. She was “no bullshit” but that of course never extended to her own shitty behavior. She took people to task of the most minor slights that would have been resolved more tactfully in a true reciprocal friendship. She was like, the queen of morality but truly suffered from everything she accused others from.

I legitimately felt a chill down my spine when I saw Chappell on this video clasp her hands cus it’s exactly like this old friend.

Btw not saying any of the above means a chapel is like this ex friend of mine. Just that the video was horrifying based on my personal context lol
