It was online so quickly bc there were so many witnesses in a public place that there was no way they had time to be notified especially because it would have been from another country and I imagine that adds a complication for law enforcement. All his family and friends probably found out online to be honest. It was apparently online in local news within 30 minutes.
I have found out about a friend's death from social media before and it... there's no good or easier way to find that out, but there was a particular unreality about it. Wondering if I was really seeing what I was seeing, was this some prank or someone with the wrong end of the stick, how could the same app where I scroll cat videos be serving this up. I felt accosted by it, if that makes sense. Like how could my phone just serve this shit up out of the blue. No call, no text from someone who'd break it gently or commiserate, just Facebook throwing it out there like it was somebody's vacation pics.
I don't want to think about how exponentially that feeling would be magnified by it coming from a news source with thousands of strangers commenting and sharing. And about a sibling too...
It's always fuck drugs in this house. Drugs turned my sister into an entirely different person and she's super violent and emotionally abusive now. She can't even take care of her children anymore.
I remember last year people were speculating that he got buccal fat removal, but he looked exactly like my friend who's been addicted to meth for years. You can tell when their cheeks start hallowing in. No idea how long he was using but meth is such a destroyer.
