An apology is nice and all but would she have continued if she hadn't been caught?

Yes. Even though it's well crafted, you can still see glimpses of her blaming other people. Like that comment about ~some people~ may never forgive. Or the proposal story.

She even references "her truth" about her proposal! What is the truth? That she is a pathological liar?

I’m struggling to find empathy for people who do things like this. I understand that people like this have untreated ailments, that tie into them doing this, but the damage it causes to their family and community, far outweighs any empathy I can have.

I just hope the people she hurt find healing and support.

I mean, idg why people would even want to do stuff like this in the first place. Attention? For her, specifically, to get the job?

exactly a year ago i was super sick & almost died from sepsis and kidney failure and it was absolutely horrible, but the amount of care and understanding i received from the people around me was so nice. i actually was like "i think i understand munchausens now because if i wasn't actually feeling SO horribly physically this might be nice." but of course that attention and care is very fleeting. once you recover enough to get back to a "normal" life, people kind of expect you to just get on with things, albeit with some limitations or accommodations. so that's why people who pretend to be sick have to keep one upping themselves and making up more and more ailments.

my only lingering complication is foot drop from some sciatic nerve damage, probably from how i was positioned in the hospital bed. it might be permanent and no doctors can give me any definitive answers but i'm managing just fine!

Pretty terribly written apology for a "writer"

Lmao I was thinking that it’s a good apology if she actually means it, but she did so much shit that it’s impossible to forgive or believe in her words
