Honestly this is not my favorite just because Halloween decor should be fun spooky (not the overwhelming weight of late stage capitalism scary) but also I love all the people that fill their yards with skeletons and tacky seasonal decor, they are doing the lord's work. I never wish to have a yard except for the months of October and December (and maybe June for the lightning bugs) just so I could go hog wild on it. Would love to go full Christine McConnell, but I live in a condo lol.

This house is known as “The Skeleton House” around Halloween time. They do the skeletons every year, they usually have a cohesive theme. The main theme this year is the ScERAS tour but they have others, a smaller group of old favorites and New Orleans themed ones. They were also one of the houses with a big house float for Mardi Gras 2021 when there was no regular Mardi Gras.

I think American Halloween really is the best thing this country has going for it. It actually is really fun and doesn't come with all the family/religious obligations of most holidays, so your only real responsibility is to have a good time :)

halloween in new orleans is fucking fun--they understand the assignment!
our neighbors will be gone this year so I think we might take this one off. i'm both relieved and very disappointed.
