Rhiannon Lewis doesn’t make much of an impression - people walk past her in the street without a second glance. She’s continually overlooked for a promotion at work, the guy she likes won’t commit, and her dad is really, really sick. Then everything in her life turns upside down. Rhiannon is pushed over the edge and loses control. Suddenly the ( Read more... )

The show is based on a book series (which I haven't read) so I'm assuming that the abrupt ending was setting up S2/book 2. I am interested to see how she gets out of that situation!

I’m annoyed at the changes from the book. The first episode was waaaaay too dark.
Poor Tink.

I haven't read the books so are the changes major or minor? The Tink part was so unnecessary!

The are major. I’m annoyed tbqh.

She is in a long term relationship with the guy who works for her father. They live together and he’s cheating on her with a girl from work.

The realtor/childhood bully is captive in her parent’s house.

She has a group of close friends called The Pixoes.

Tink is alive the entire first few books. Maybe the third …

I don’t know if you’ve watched all the episodes yet but any other info is major spoilers.

I watched the whole series so spoil away whatever else they changed!

Craig was a fuckboi either way, but cheating on your live-in girlfriend is way worse than texting back emojis.

Does Marcus exist in the book?

One thing that seemed very unrealistic was her boss's abrupt change in attitude. The kind of man who throws his coat over the receptionist's head every morning doesn't seem likely to take her side over his favorite reporter overnight.

I'm still mad they got rid of Sweetbitter!

TBH I didn't love Sweetbitter but I'm not sure how much of that was because I wasn't crazy about the book and how much of it was the adaptation/casting. I was still surprised when it got canceled because it seemed like a solid offering (I was WAY more upset about Starz canceling Blindspotting).

I've been watching this, I still have the last episode to go!

I did relate in a way where I wasn't seen or heard growing up, as I was a general anxious person. Luckily I never had one bully who I had resentment towards (They kind of disappeared from my life and I never kept up with them)

Surprised how I got into this show - as the episodes goes on you can see the character find confidence in herself which is endearing.
