There is something about Riley Keough that I just really, really love. I have never seen any of her work, but she was on The View this week and she seems so sweet and humble.
My favorite part so far is when Lisa is demanding her friend's Barbie case cause its sold out everywhere but she obviously isn't gonna just give it to her, so Lisa picks up this statue and is about to potentially bash her head in and Elvis pokes his head in and is says "Honey, don't kill your best friend." Like bruh. I have no idea why this is so hilarious to me 😂
lol but this post definitely has confirmed i will be getting the audiobook, i love a good memoir! ill listen to it with my dad, he was(is?) a fan of elvis!
I have soo many conflicted feelings about this book because i think it’s extraordinary in so many ways, but it almost doesn’t feel like a memoir and it doesn’t feel finished because sadly she passed before so much was put on tape and I think you can tell. To me so much of it’s about generational trauma and addiction. it’s so fucking sad that she just wasn’t quite able to break the cycle of it
