This. People seem to be missing the point. It doesn't matter how much you paid for a flight. There needs to be recourse and consumer protections when multinational companies fail to meet their end of the bargain. Period.

Exactly this. If anything, it's good that she draws more attention to the BS the airline industry get away with. Same way as it benefits consumers when celebrities draw attention to Ticketmaster's predatory monopoly ticketing process, because the media attention forces regulators and legislators to act.

I feel like this is a textbook case of people jumping on her because "It's not what you say, it's how you say it." If Jessica had cited this measly credit as one example of how awful the airline industry is for everyone, people would 100 percent be on her side. Instead, it comes off "I'm wealthy and should never have to suffer any inconvenience!"
