Yep. I'm from a developing country and when I lived New York I realized how dumb americans are.

Like, we're no geniouses here and there's a lot in the US that I envy, but at the same time there's also so much arrogance and ignorance, and the weirdest part is how many are proud of it. It completely changed my view of "the most powerful country on earth". And this was more than 10 years ago. SM has done even more damage.
