Are you here in the disaster area? Because things are going much better than they could be and 90% of the shit you hear about the government response is from right-wing shit stirrers. The government is here in WNC, they are doing good work, so unless you're here or in the FL panhandle or eastern GA or western SC or eastern TN or SW VA, please don't.

I am not really upset at the government. It is more of the local agencies and such because of their poor management and planning.

Even here in Jackson County where nothing really happened but some flooding near the university and some worse stuff up on the escarpment (which is mostly retirees and second homes), I saw the sheriff's office running around like chickens with their heads cut off and Verizon dropping the ball. FEMA and nonprofits showed up and within a few hours/days we were back to normal (minus Verizon/Optimum). Our emergency management has some room for improvement locally, as does disaster planning for utilities, but it wasn't FEMA's fault, it was local "this won't happen to us!" planning.

oh I'm sure her comments are a fucking mess, although it should come as no surprise that she's more left wing. people seem to think you should be conservative if you're from Appalachia but that's like the birthplace of socialism in the US.

anyway I wanna check her comments but the algorithm pushed me onto the "vegetables and pasteurized milk are bad for you, actually" side of Instagram so that's my bullshit quota of the week. still feeling a little sick from watching videos of people drinking chunky milk and pouring melted cheese onto what I suppose one could call a "salad" :(
