I’ve never understood the idea that it was a drug deal gone wrong; Jussie was the one who called police and told them he was attacked etc.

Now, if he was doing that bc the brothers were threatening to extort him by outing his drug use, why go down the homophobic, racist verbal attack along with the physical one?! It was just unnecessary information to add for it to be a drug deal gone bad when he could have just said he was attacked physically.

It's a very short street near Downtown and the Chicago River Walk. The reason why it's called "Lower" is this area of the city has a "Upper" level that accesses Michigan Avenue and the "Lower" level which accesses the Riverwalk and Lower Wacker Drive. While it's busy during the day because of the Riverwalk, apartment buildings, hotel, and the NBC building it's isolated as hell at night and would be a desolate, no man's land at 2 in the morning...not idea to go to Subway or anywhere else.

Yeah to be honest I think if you’re in his position, it would be so embarrassing to admit that you made it up at this point that you basically have to just go with it forever. Also I’m sure he still has a small group of fans who still defend him and if he admitted it wasn’t true, even they would abandon him.
