Wooooooof @ Joker! Saw a comment on Twitter noting (paraphrasing) that The Marvels actually had a better opening weekend than this, yet we won't get thinkpieces about how white men shouldn't lead comic book movies.

I had a busy movie weekend!

The Outrun: Saoirse is fantastic, as she always is, but I think a nomination is the ceiling for her with this movie. It's very... deliberately pace (my husband was bored, and I was close at times), and very internal - not a lot of overly showy emotional scenes for her. She certainly gets to demonstrate her range, which is great, and there is some beautiful footage of the Orkney Islands. Saoirse did a Q&A afterward, and she was lovely. You can tell she is really proud of the film and her husband for finding the book and producing with her.

I forgot I saw Dune 1984 earlier this year; Honestly that would have been fantastic on the big screen because it's just so wildly different.
