it was a good show but i really hate how they portrayed aspergers and dealt with aspergers on the show, this may be an unpopular opinion but they really missed the mark. there were a few positives and things i agreed with but the show was really uncomfortable for me to watch (i was diagnosed with aspergers 24 years ago while at school and entering my teenage years and it was incredibly traumatising for me, i had literally no friends at school, people were poking fun of me because i was 'different' and i attempted to end my life numerous times. the support system i have now is nowhere near what i had back then, i had doctors and psychologists literally telling me to "go to nightclubs and force yourself to socialise with people" which was very confronting to be told. it's only in the last ten years that i've learned to accept my diagnosis of aspergers (now autism spectrum disorder) and am comfortable with who i am. that being said i'm not some kind of genius at one particular thing, i'm not rain man, i don't have an eidetic memory, my

ITA - the way it was depicted and discussed on the show was...not great (to put it mildly). There were some very vocal critics of the way Max was portrayed but instead of listening, the show doubled down which was really disappointing. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised considering how ridiculous/unrealistic some other aspects of the show were.
