I had to stop watching Parenthood for a few reasons and one of them was that they just made Max an unbearable character. I remember seeing a clip of the parents shaming a little girl because Max liked her and she wasn't into him. And then they kept making Mae Whitman scream cry every episode. I just remember hearing "RYANNNNNN" or "BUDDYYYY" like 20 times an episode. Oh, and they also started overdoing the bit where they would talk over each other. It was realistic at first but then they went too far with it. All in all, I think Parenthood had about 1 or 2 good seasons.

All of the parent characters referring to their young kids as "buddy" was SO ANNOYING.

One of the most underrated TV shows. It walked so 'this is us' could sit down and cry.

Yeah, forget that (alleged) Suits -> Succession pipeline. Parenthood was definitely the precursor to This Is Us.
