You're right! The Sirk films are the best overall, but his best performances are probably in Seconds and some of his light comedies.

I liked the movies with Doris Day - when I was a kid they used to have classic movies on TV on weekend afternoons and Saturday nights and those ones popped up regularly. I also really loved the Douglas Sirk ones.

He was a proper movie star with more range than he is really remembered for.

I remember when it was revealed he had AIDS and how ghoulish the tabloid media was. It was horrific. :-(

Richard Burton honestly was based as hell. Every take I've ever read about him just makes me love him more.
