My jury duty story...
The court was right next to a theme park (like, RIGHT next to it) and there was a long window above the judge's head. Every now and then you'd see legs flying in the air as the rollercoaster went past.
In the same case, the juror next to me kept falling asleep cos he'd come off shift work for the trial. I had to keep nudging him to wake him up.

Generally, I have just had to call in and then they said they didn't need me. Only had to go in twice. First time, they filled out the juries for the day and dismissed us by noon. I read a book to kill time. Second time I sat in the jury waiting room until lunch, filling out bridal shower invitations for a friend's bridal shower that I was throwing. They had us go to lunch and come back and when we came back, they said they had filled out all the juries for the trials on the docket for the day and I got to go home.
I haven't received a jury summons since. So maybe they lost my address. I hope I didn't jinx myself by saying that.

As for jury duty... I've been called a couple times, and only got a trial once. It was a gang murder trial, it lasted for weeks, and we ended as a hung jury. It was a good learning experience, but I found it extremely stressful and upsetting to have to make that kind of call when he definitely seemed guilty as fuck, but they just didn't have enough good evidence. I've always considered myself a pretty rational person, but there is a looooooot of gray area in criminal trials.
I assume that if I get pulled again, they'll probably get rid of me in voir dire for being on a hung jury.
