I watched this all in one go after randomly starting it one night and it was very enjoyable (though as a non-religous person the central conflict is just dumb as fuck)

I haven't watched it yet for that reason. Plus I hate the "mom hates the girlfriend/you're not good enough for my son" trope from the preview.

Oh that trope is definitely a big part, but it played out in a satisfying way. It's definitely still worth watching.

my mom and i were talking about this (we jews) and the angry, jewish mother trope is HER mothers generation, so it wouldve been adams grandma, who wouldve been like 90-100 today. boomer jewish moms arent really like the stereotype.
