Despite a fruitless campaign against her nomination in the 2024 News and Documentary Emmy Awards, Bisan Owda won in the "Outstanding Hard News Feature Story: Short Form" category for her AJ+ Reports collaboration It's Bisan from Gaza and I'm Still Alive.

Good, well deserved! While it feels dark that she is being recognized by an awards show in a country that is enabling her people's genocide, I appreciate that NATAS told the Zionists to stuff it when they tried to get her nomination rescinded.

i don't remember if she was a journalism student before the genocide but i can't imagine how heartbreaking it is to have all these accomplishments under her name as part of living through something like this.

and sorry to bring back wank but i do have to say there was one comment in the chapell roan post that really put into words how i feel. idk how people my age are supposed to see their peers go through this horror and feel enthusiastic about people who want the horror to continue. who are excited for this atrocity to continue. i'm enthusiastic about stopping this. palestinians deserve to live freely.
