Despite
a fruitless campaign against her nomination in the 2024 News and Documentary Emmy Awards, Bisan Owda won in the "Outstanding Hard News Feature Story: Short Form" category for her AJ+ Reports collaboration It's Bisan from Gaza and I'm Still Alive.

A post shared by AJ+ (@ajplus) The award was accepted by Jon Laurence, Senior Executive Producer at AJ+ Reports, who noted in the acceptance speech that over 100 Palestinians journalists have been killed in Gaza, including many from Al Jazeera, and that just last week the Al Jazeera bureau in West Bank was shut down at gunpoint.
In 2021, the building housing several journalism outlets in Gaza, including Al Jazeera, the Associated Press and Earnst & Young, was destroyed.
It's Bisan from Gaza and I'm Still Alive was released on November 3, 2023, and has also received a Peabody and an Edward R. Murrow award.
