I don't know why people are acting like she said she hates her sis.

People grow apart and it's been apparent they aren't really close for a long time. They have different views/values/personalities and thier own families

Yeah, I think people don't realize that twins are regular siblings and while some might be close, others may fall apart or don't have anything to do with each other. (spoken from someone who is a twin and also has known many twins who have a range of different relationships. I'm fortunate my twin and I are BFFs.)

One of my friends has an identical twin and they’re mostly estranged and she told me that when someone finds out your sibling is a twin it’s suddenly very socially acceptable to be all oh no what happened?? that’s so sad i hope you can make up one day and she has to drudge it all up in some form for strangers whereas no one really gaf when you say you don’t talk to to your non-twin sibling. I knew them both prior to this so luckily it wasn’t a faux pas I made, can’t imagine how annoying that is

That’s sad :/ It’s also the type of thing I remind myself any time I get sad about being an only child. You aren’t guaranteed happy relationships with siblings.

I remember someone on here said that there is no obligation to maintain your relationship with your family as an adult. And a lot of people here agreed.
It makes me sad but it's true. Like happens, people drift. People have different priorities
