The Pallbearer walked so Dear Evan Hansen could fall out of a tree.

being a successful hollywood actor must be the world's longest game of what-could've-been. you miss out on a role that becomes a surprise oscar winner (but would you have gotten that nom?) or you think this'll be the next big action movie only for it to flop (or vice versa)

yeah and we usually only really hear about the almost roles from actors who went on to be very successful anyway and have the opportunity to talk about it, but less often - and more brutal - are the ones where it legitimately could've been someone's big break and then it wasn't and they faded into obscurity

He didn't drop people he'd made a commitment to? Someone send this to Joaquin.

I'm wondering which part he would have played. It couldn't have been Smith's. I just can't imagine him having that kind of energy.

I know not everyone gets into acting to become rich or famous, but it's not like he lost out on a huge career? I'm sure his Friends residual checks are pretty nice

I can honestly say first hand that he has had an excellent reputation with the theater/comedy scene here in Chicago for an extremely long time. His decision does not surprise me at all.
