Shameless did the same category fraud and I believe eventually had to move. Dear Emmy’s board, I love Jeremy Allan White too but if he is in it, it’s not a comedy. He’s a fucking method actor and he ain’t making nobody tehehe with his familial trauma dumps. Just because Ayo being funny on the red carpet isn’t enough to consider this bleak ass show a comedy.
According to Wikipedia, Shameless was in the drama category for its first three Emmy seasons (during this period, the sole Emmy nominations the show received were for Joan Cusack every year) and then the show switched to the comedy category for its fourth season.
That's the one I'm most disappointed about I think. Sorry Jodie (we already know you are amazing at what you do), but this should have been Juno's award.
i'm so salty about it! i love jodie but this was a participation award, danvers was a one note character and maybe with ten episodes she could have had more to do with the role but kali reis was doing the heavy lifting there. juno's fargo turn was an incredibly nuanced performance from start to finish.
I agree. If you just look at the characters and their depiction over the course of each respective season, Jodie/Danvers is the same in every episode. Juno/Dot, on the other hand, was more multi-faceted and had a wider range of emotions and growth.
So happy for LaMorne. He’s such a great, versatile actor and seems like a truly kind and very, very funny man. I hope this leads to even better roles for him honestly the New Girl guys are highly underrated.
I need him in another leading role. I wanted to like “Woke” and watched for him and Sasheer but it just couldn’t click for me. Excited to see how he is in the SNL movie!
I love her and I'm so happy for her, but then I started getting annoyed that we had to wait until the year 2024 for an Asian actress to win best lead in a drama (especially since Sandra Oh was collectively on Grey's and Killing Eve for YEARS).

I watched both seasons of Woke for Lamorne! I was really happy to see him in a role that was so different from Winston and as a lead.
