this movie is this decade's "pacific rim" for me. a comfort movie, fun as hell (despite many people saying the writing sucked, lol), and weirdly feels like a cult classic even though a lot of people watched it.

Most of the hate I've seen toward it was the music LMAO (and I sort of agree with that). Also the limited budget meaning they shot all the action sequences in little rooms and everything was on the outskirts of somewhere more important so they didn't have to show any landmarks and as such could be anywhere.

Yeah, it's not gonna happen in 2024 unless the reshoots will involve minimal editing and no CGI and can just be plugged in to an otherwise finished film - but at this point, I expect spring/summer 2025. At least we get some other projects from the cast to tide us over until then LMAO.

ofc netflix would drag their feet on a female led action project. unless the female lead is in a rom com/comedy/feminine-aligned genre they couldn't give two shits about more seasons/sequels
