I don't really talk that much about my addictions because I've replaced them with other additions (food/sugar) and I beat myself up for not just magically changing behaviour that can become bad for me.

I got sober from alcohol in 2007 and pills in 2014. I still miss 1 drink me. She is still who I wish I was: for the 10min she existed she was funny and relaxed and confident. I might be those things but never in a way that I am certain? It quieted the overwhelming anxiety and self consciousness that still plagues me.

But I don't know if I'd be alive if I hadn't stopped.
