I finally got to go see Alien Romulus and I really enjoyed it! I like my xenomorphs scary, so this was my jam. I think if you prefer Alien to Aliens you'll probably enjoy this one.

Came in here to say the same thing! I saw it last night to escape the heat and I was really surprised since I hadn’t heard much talk about it. I thought Aliens was awful, but Alien Romulus really captured the ~atmosphere of Alien that I loved

Glad to see that Beetlejuice already made up its initial budget of $100mill.

It should end up being as profitable as the original in the long run so thats great.

Beetlejuice got my dude's money! Was it everything I hoped for? No. But literally no movie is. I like it for what it is, even though there was a lot more going on than probably needed to be. The more I reflect on it, Rory is the plot I think we really could have lived without. They could have fleshed out (no pun intended) MB's character more and given me more Dafoe as opposed to MB and WD just being *there* and only being important for like two scenes each

I loved Delores (that scene set to "Tragedy" by the BeeGees was my favorite part!) but hated how she went out. They built her up as this powerful femme fatale, and then she just gets gobbled up like a basic bitch. It felt like they ran out of time or ideas.

Exactly. It just felt so lackluster after most of her other scenes. They could have even given her an open-ended exit if Dafoe's character had brought her back to the afterlife and maybe a subplot where she starts using him for her own gain. There was just so much potential with her and instead it felt like she was just there to stand there and look hot. (Also they could have cut the baby. Maybe that was there as a reference to the cartoon? Idk, but I didn't see the point.)

Yes, what a missed opportunity to have her interact with the cop/actor character since they were playing with 40's noir tropes with his character.

Tim Burton has already said there won't be another.
