my local independent theater is playing a bunch of stuff i've never heard of or don't want to see (Reagan) and i find it very odd it literally never played Cuckoo, which I feel like it normally would. Trap is mostly out of theaters around here now so I'm considering just seeing Twisters again tomorrow lol

I had been watching Humanist Vampire Seeking Consensual Suicidal Person on Kanopy after it was released there, and then Kanopy removed it within 4 days for no reason as far as I know while I was halfway through and so I'm halfway through and out two tickets.

This week I did see:

The Crow (1994)

Drive-Away Dolls

Deep Rising

The Duchess

Harold and Maude

Four Lions

Bowfinger

All were new to me except Bowfinger. It was a fairly good watching week, lowest was The Crow but I get why people like it (I only gave it 2.5 stars) and highest was a tie between The Duchess, Harold and Maude, and Bowfinger at 4 stars.

Watched it many years ago, but I didn't like The Crow either, tbh!

I absolutely need to see Harold and Maude.

I saw Harold and Maude on Kanopy if you have that through your library. It was Manic Pixie Dream Grandma, but it was still fun! I get why people think it's one of the best movies from the 70s, I just didn't FULLY connect with it (probably because manic pixie dream grandma).

I think I actually have the blu-ray! I just need to sort out my living room situation so I can unpack my media collection, and I have been putting that off because it's hard and not at all fun.

i hate watched the crow so you don't have to. i can confirm it is awful!

Director Uwe Boll has directed an impressive number of extremely low-rated films, most of which hover at around a 3/10 on IMDB.
holy shit!

Annoyed that Cuckoo and Kneecap were already out of my AMC this week, because I wanted to see both. Now, I have a week with no prospects that interest me. I mean, Reagan???? Foh.

There are a bunch of movies I might see over the next few days, though:

Tomorrow, we might go see M (1930).

Saturday, could be I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) - the only one of the weekend I've already seen, but never in a theater. Plus, it's screening in a theater I've never been to, and have been meaning to check out.

Sunday, we have tickets for Stagecoach (1939) at the Academy Museum.

And then Monday, I'm interested in Sunset Boulevard (1950) and The Third Man (1949).

We may not get to all of them, but I'm sure we'll hit at least a couple!

I feel the same way that I didn't run out to see Kneecap before it left my local theater. ARGH

Strange Darling currently tops my list of favorite films so far this year. I highly recommend it but won't say anything more because it's a surprising film in so many ways and I always try going into a film like this with as little information as possible to maximize the visceral experience. I even skipped the trailer for this one. I'll be seeing it again asap.
