There was a whole explanation about it when they broke into Sazz's apartment because she had a gallery of her x-rays prominently displayed. Charles talked about how she showcased the broken bones she was proudest of and said that she only got her joint replacements from Bulgaria because those are the best ones.

I loved that first episode! It already looks better plot wise than Season 3 because as much as I love Paul Rudd I didn't give a fuck about Ben or the play and I loved Sazz since she first appeared. Season 1 worked so well because the murder was personal to Mabel and now it's personal to Charles so I can't wait for more backstory on Charles!
I wonder if Loretta and Oliver will break up because he was so into her in Season 3 but he seems a bit out of the relation now. She wants a proposal Oliver!
It's a running gag that all Mabel's love interests disappear with no explanation from one season to another? I don't get it.

I kind of like that Mabel's love interests are one and done, it kind of fits for her character. I think also because it might be too distracting for the main plot if she had a consistent love interest, like it would be almost too stable for her character?

I think Oliver is still super into Loretta, but just nervous about giving up his life in New York and taking that next step. They're so cute together!!

I wonder if on the little paper Mabel gave Bev Melon it's written that she wants Oliver to direct the film (or at least write it) so he could move to LA and be with Loretta. And he'd let her rent his apartment for peanuts so she can figure out what she wants to do.

Oh! That would be a great negotiation. I would've never considered the apartment aspect but if she's to trust anyone to write it, it would be him since he personally knows her and won' do her dirty.
