The Crow trailer was so bad. It made it seem like a movie based on a young adult novel and not THE CROW

Saw Didi - the theater wasn't full, but still had a good number of people, way more than what I was expecting for a small indie movie a month out from release, which makes me think that word of mouth is working in the movie's favor.

Really enjoyed the movie. I liked that the skater kids [Spoiler (click to open)]ended up being different than what the audience and Chris himself probably expected, with the way they came to Joan's defense after Chris was an ass.

My heart also broke for Joan throughout the movie. The way the grandma talked to her, the way Chris talked to her, the whole art subplot and the expression on her face [Spoiler (click to open)]when she got the rejection letter. i read a review saying that the movie felt like an apology to the director's (sean wang) own mother, which lol yeah i can see it. JUSTICE FOR CHUNGSING!!

props to alien and even that dumb blake lively movie for doing well as mid-budget movies this summer, and up against marvel. we need more success stories like that which don't include domestic violence
