there has only been a handful of the free games that i've played, ive only 'bought' them out of FOMO but i cant be bothered to install it to find out the game is crap.

the only money ive spent on their game store is some DBD DLC when the base game was free other than that i havent spent any money.

I think a lot of Steam loyatly comes down to the fact it was the main or only place to buy PC games for a very long time, people have gotten used to it's UI, deal structure, etc it would be hard to try and get people to move away from that.

Hell i dont even buy games that have an additional launcher on top of steam

I downloaded the Epic Store to get Civ VI for free and ended up buying all the DLC for the game from them. While I have a bunch of other free games I've since added it's essentially a second Steam graveyard for me.

Like no offense Tim, I'm team Sweeney when it comes to dragging Apple through all circles of hell, but EGS UI and UX are HORRIBLE, you'd think the company behind UE of all things would know how to make a decent platform, but no, they produced this piece of garbage. Ngl, I love that I could get my favorite Star Wars games for free, but EGS is an absolute failure, and instead of making these weird decisions, he should have gone after Valve's monopolist ass in the first place.
