❤️ Dodger.
Every so often I will find myself browsing petfinder. I would really like to get a dog, but vet care is so expensive and I’m not home a lot so I don’t think I could give a good dog the life it deserves.

That’s how I feel. I would love a dog, but my lifestyle doesn’t really allow for one, and I would be heartbroken if I had to leave them somewhere

One of my rescues is around 12 and she would walk for miles if we let her. At her last vet visit, the vet said she was presenting as a much younger dog and I said "she's gonna live forever." The vet made a "mmmmm" noise and then just left the exam room, lol.

Thank god it’s not grain free and he understands it’s a high protein because Dodger himself is very active. Too many owners REFUSE to listen until it’s too late how they wrecked their dog’s heart with high performance and/or grain free food that wasn’t medically necessary.

Do you know if its the same for cats? I switched my cat's food to grain free because she developed food allergies (don't know what she's exactly allergic to) and the vet gave us grain free food for her to eat. I've been giving her the non prescription versions (like Blue Buffalo) because the vet's prescription expired and she wasn't a huge fan of the food the vet gave her.

Directed by a vet would definitely count as medically necessary so you're good! It would be nice to eventually find out exactly which one is the trigger (rice? corn? wheat? barley? oats? quinoa? pea protein?) and if it's a saturation issue (like, as long as the grain is a low amount you'll be fine, much like some humans with gluten intolerance have to just watch their consumption too), because grains are a part of the prey cats will historically hunt -- BUT when you're trying to get it under control/verify, a complete elimination diet is the first and least complicated step ( ... )

I'd love to just hike an hour a day, I spend most days on my feet walking but it isn't the same as leisurely walking and being present in nature, by the evenings I'd rather just sit for an hour and put my feet up. My dog is rather lazy and will happily watch me trudge around fields while he pants in the shade lol.
